A New State: West Australia

I arrived in Perth a couple of days ago and do what I do everytime I enter a new city, I walk. My hostel, the witches hat, was situated in Northbridge, a suburb just north of the city. Perth itself is nice, young, and is the most isolated capital city in the world. However, I am learning that a city is a city, and many of them in Australia are beggining to look the same. I met up with Brent, a guy that Billy boy had befriended in Central America, and have been crashing at his house this weekend. He lives in Cottlesbro, which is a beach community west of the city, along the coast of the Indian Ocean. Brent is a good bloke, and I've had a good time with him. Today I picked up some camping gear and tommorrow I down the coast to the southwest. I found an Irish couple with a campervan who is traveling down that way and were looking for fellow travelers to go with them. Winter is approaching so this is really the last chance I'll get to see down south at all. It will probably be the last time I travel the south of Australia. After this it's north, to follow the sun.
